Frequently asked questions

Does polishing damage my watch?

Any polishing removes a little metal, which is why we keep it to a minimum and respect the original edges and surfaces. On an over-polished area or a deep dent, laser welding adds metal before re-polishing.

Do you polish gold watches?

Yes, we polish 316L and 904L steel as well as yellow, rose, white and grey gold. Laser welding is possible on both steel and gold.

Should a vintage watch be polished?

Not always: on a collector's watch, an unpolished case is often worth more, and we advise you case by case. When a case has been over-polished in the past (rounded edges, faded bevels, thinned lugs), laser welding adds metal where it is missing. We can then polish without weakening the case, correct the flaws of previous polishing and restore the watch's original geometry and look.
